Xavier Acarín Wieland is a curator interested in performativity, material culture, urban studies and exhibition histories.

His exhibitions and projects have been presented at Chez Bushwick, Le Petit Versailles, Elastic City, Parsons School of Design, The Hessel Museum, Peekskill Project 6, The Abrons Arts Center, ESTE Gallery, Knockdown Center, Wendy's Subway, and PS122 Gallery in New York, La Ira de Dios in Buenos Aires, HIAP and Muu Gallery in Helsinki, and the Mies van der Rohe Foundation, the Reial Cercle Artístic, Caixaforum, and ADN Gallery in Barcelona.

In 2016-17 Xavier was the Curator in Residency at the Abrons Arts Center, where he developed a one-year program of exhibitions, performances and events. In 2018 he was the first Curator in Residency at the Sant Andreu Contemporani-Fabra i Coats Program, and Co-Curator of the LOOP Festival in Barcelona. In 2020 his project was selected to work with the collections of 'La Caixa' Foundation and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona (Macba).

Xavier has written texts for exhibitions at Galería Jorge López, Centre d'Art Tecla Sala, P.A.D. Gallery, Galería Rosa Santos, Galería ADN, and Participant Inc. His articles, essays, and interviews have been published at Exibart, El Periódico, A-Desk (2008-2019), Culturas-La Vanguardia, Esnorquel, Terremoto, and BRAC (University of Barcelona). He has participated as author in the books Experience Design (Bloomsbury, 2014), Dear Helen (CCS Bard, 2014), and Davant la Imatge (BRAC-Comanegra, 2016), Itziar Barrio (Skira, 2024).

Xavier holds a BA in Art History from the University of Barcelona, a MA in Museum Studies from New York University, a MA in Curatorial Studies from the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College and is currently a PhD Student at the Visual Cultures Department at Goldsmiths, University of London. He is a part-time faculty at Parsons School of Design and the School of Visual Arts in New York City, and visiting lecturer at EINA in Barcelona.
